The Auburn football quarterback room underwent significant changes this offseason. Holden Geriner, Walker White, and Hank Brown entered the transfer portal, while Payton Thorne exhausted his eligibility. To rebuild the roster, the Tigers added three quarterbacks via the transfer portal—Jackson Arnold, Ashton Daniels, and Tanner Bailey—joining incoming 5-star freshman Deuce Knight.
With spring practices approaching, Jackson Arnold is projected to start for the Tigers in 2025. According to 247Sports, Arnold is also anticipated to be one of college football’s most productive quarterbacks next season, ranking No. 10 in their top quarterback projections.
“Despite the offense’s struggles with turnovers last season, the Tigers frequently pushed the ball downfield and had success with explosive passing plays,” wrote 247Sports’ Brad Crawford. “Those dynamic wide receivers are returning, along with new portal additions. Former Oklahoma quarterback Jackson Arnold stands to benefit from this, coupled with improved play on the offensive line.”
Additionally, Auburn’s football program is preparing for a major Junior Day recruiting event this weekend. Most of their 2026 commits and several high-profile prospects will attend, including 5-star wide receiver Tristen Keys.
Keys, from Hattiesburg, Mississippi, is ranked as the No. 2 wide receiver in the 2026 class and the top prospect from his state. Holding over 20 offers, he recently announced his top 12 programs: Alabama, Auburn, LSU, Georgia, USC, Mississippi State, Tennessee, Texas A&M, Oklahoma, Florida, Ole Miss, and Miami.
