Green Bay Packers’ Aaron Rodgers asked to leave football for a legendary job opportunity.
Former Green Bay Packers quarterback has been in the news for virtually his whole career. For nearly two decades, he has enthralled fans with his remarkable on-field play as well as his fascinating off-field opinions.
That is why it was not shocking to see the eventual Hall of Fame quarterback as the “front runner” for a highly sought-after position.
Former Green Bay Packers Quarterback Aaron Rodgers Was “Front Runner” For Incredible Job
According to Brian Marks from The Daily Mail:
Aaron Rodgers came close to hosting Jeopardy after impressing the show’s producers, according to one-time host Mike Richards in a recent interview.
Rodgers, 40, was allegedly the’most prepared’ of all the candidates who attempted to replace the late Alex Trebek, according to Richards, 48, who spoke with People on Wednesday.
Despite getting high marks on his try-out hosting spots, Rodgers was ultimately passed over, and Richards claimed that he was worried about the quarterback’s apparent lack of a plan for how he would balance hosting the iconic game show while still playing in the NFL.
Instead, Richards stepped over as host — but just for a day, as he was sacked after obscene comments he made on a podcast surfaced.
According to the fired host, Rodgers expressed a strong desire to host Jeopardy after admitting to being a great fan of the quiz program.
Aaron Rodgers has a history with Jeopardy.
“Aaron Rodgers was definitely the most prepared,” Richards stated. “I was blown away by that — the intensity in which he prepped — and he was so lovely to everyone on staff.”
Rodgers is a competitor known for attempting to acquire an advantage over his opponents, so this isn’t unusual. The self-described history buff completed the most of his Jeopardy! research online during his hosting days.
