SO SAD: Detroit Lions Super Bowl Player’s wife files for divorce following his dismissal from the…
The life of a Lions supporter is difficult. For 16 Sundays each fall, Detroit fans tune in to witness a product that is usually subpar at best.
Sure, they can pull off a win here and there, giving fans optimism.
However, the organization has repeatedly failed to deliver a winning product, as evidenced by the fact that the franchise has never appeared in a Super Bowl, despite having in existence since the “big game” began in 1967.
Heck, Detroit’s MLB team, the Tigers, has drafted more quarterbacks who have competed in the NFL’s annual season finale.
Maybe, just maybe, the Lions will have their own quarterback line up under center in the Super Bowl.
Sunday.
But, until then, fans can imagine what the day would be like.
Alternatively, they might “divorce” the team and begin supporting another NFL organization, such as the Super Bowl LIV champion Kansas City Chiefs.
Just ask Christy Carpo and her husband Nathan, who did the exact same thing midway through the 2018 season after 28 years of unremitting failure.
And wow, was it the right time to jump ship to the Chiefs.
Since 2018, the Lions, led by rocket scientist Matt Patricia, have gone 9-22-1 and made no playoff appearances.Meanwhile, the Chiefs, led by Andy Reid, the second-winningest head coach in today’s league, have gone 24-8, reached two consecutive AFC championship games, and recently won the Super Bowl.
Oh, and they’re led by a 24-year-old gunslinger named Patrick Mahomes, who has previously earned regular season and Super Bowl MVP.
Right now, it may be slightly easier to be a Kansas City fan than a Detroit fan.
Divorcing the Lions was not easy for the Carpo pair.
