Two signings for the St. Louis Battlehawks include all-XFL tackle.
The St. Louis Battlehawks announced on Thursday the additions of offensive tackle Jaryd Jones-Smith and defensive tackle McKinley Williams.
On Thursday, St. Louis Battlehawks supporters were still waiting for the AJ McCarron news, but the team continued to move forward with the rest of its roster. The United Football League confirmed the signings of offensive tackle Jaryd Jones-Smith and defensive tackle McKinley Williams.
Jones-Smith returns to St. Louis after starting eight games last season and earning All-XFL honors. The Battlehawks selected him first in the 2022 XFL Draft.
He initially left the team after the Washington Commanders signed him at the close of last year’s XFL season, and he spent the entire year on their practice squad.
Earlier to joining the XFL, Jones-Smith played for five distinctive NFL groups from 2018 through 2021. He was too a part of the San Antonio Commanders of the Organization together of American Football in 2019.
Williams could be a previous CFL player who went through final year on the hone program of the Hamilton Tiger-Cats. The past season, Williams showed up in one diversion, making one handle. That same year, he too went through time on the Indianapolis Colts list as an undrafted free specialist some time recently being discharged in preparing camp.
Amid his six seasons with the Syracuse Orange, Williams made 122 handles, 21 handles for misfortune, four sacks and one bungle recuperation in 61 games.
Bringing in Jones-Smith may be a basic move for St. Louis as they get a key piece to the hostile line back. The Battlehawks offense continues to climb up within the rankings as one of the most excellent within the UFL.
Groups will be detailing to preparing camp on Feb. 23, and the Battlehawks open their season against the Michigan Jaguars on Walk 30.
