The Detroit Lions have finally given up on their super star quarterback.
The NFL Combine, the major event of each year’s pre-draft process, is scheduled for 2024. Before the draft in April, Pro Days will be held, and teams will welcome top-30 prospects for visits.
The Detroit Lions, of course, hold the 29th overall pick in the first round and may go in a variety of directions with it. The defensive side of the ball should be easy to focus on, but forecasting what Brad Holmes will or will not do is tough. There have naturally been a lot of post-combine mock drafts released. So, let’s look at who those mock drafters predict the Lions will choose at No. 29.
The Lions could definitely use a pass rusher to pair with Aidan Hutchinson, and Robinson is one of the finest in this draft class. He’s gaining favor as the 29th pick following a solid performance in Indianapolis.
In many mock drafts, Arnold is among the first one or two cornerbacks taken. It appears doubtful that he will fall this far to the Lions, but given the position’s depth, someone may slip in the first round unexpectedly.
Despite a disappointing combine performance, albeit while dealing with a groin ailment, Rakestraw remains a popular selection for the Lions at No. 29. His skill level and playing style look like a good fit.
