Josh Allen React About Losing the MVP: ‘I Didn’t Get It?’
Josh Allen, the Buffalo Bills quarterback, has repeatedly come close to winning MVP in recent years, but he has yet to win. That sad pattern continued at Thursday night’s NFL Honours, with Allen finishing fifth in MVP vote. Notably, he was the only player to receive a first-place vote other than MVP winner Lamar Jackson, who received 49 stated votes.
Despite missing out on the NFL’s most coveted personal honour, Allen did not appear to be disappointed. Allen learned about the news from former NFL offensive tackle and Bussin’ With the Boys co-host Taylor Lewan, and brushed it off with a smile. “Heartbreak. I didn’t receive it? I didn’t receive?!” Allen stated in joke before faking tears.
When told he received the stray first-place vote, Allen only kept the comedy routine going. He said he was “honored” to get that vote, while Lewan then joked that if Allen kept at this pace, he would win the award in about 35 years. “We’ll get there. We’ll get there,” Allen said. Allen actually beat Jackson in both of those categories, so one could make an argument that he deserved the award instead.
What’s done is done, and Allen must now focus on next season if he wants to be MVP and win a Super Bowl.
