Georgia has been extremely active in the transfer window this offseason, having signed six players so far, with more on the way. Former Stanford tight end Benjamin Yurosek has stated that he will transfer to Georgia, raising the issue of what the Bulldogs are getting in him.
One of the most significant contributions Yurosek makes to Athens is his in-game experience. Georgia’s tight end room is not lacking in skill, especially with Brock Bowers leaving for the NFL, but they do lack experience into 2024. Rising youngster Oscar Delp saw a lot of action alongside Bowers last season and helped cover the vacuum during his injury, while the remainder of the snaps were split between Lawson Luckie and Pearce Spurlin.
Yurosek has spent the last four seasons at Stanford, where he has received significant playing time in the last three years. His greatest season came as a sophomore, when he caught 43 passes for 658 yards and three touchdowns. His career statistics presently stand at 108 receptions, 1,342 receiving yards, and five touchdowns. He missed part of the 2023 college football season due to an injury. He also has a big build, measuring six feet four and weighing over 230 pounds according to his player biography.

Mandatory Credit: Darren Yamashita/USA TODAY Sports Tight end appears to be one of the last spots Georgia would need to add given how effectively Todd Hartley and his staff have recruited that position, but the signing of Yurosek adds valuable depth to the squad. Georgia already has some very talented tight ends, and they increased to that number this year with the 2024 recruiting class. However, with an extended season and a difficult conference schedule ahead of them, everyone will rely heavily on depth.
