Joelinton, a midfielder for Newcastle United, was the most recent Premier League player to have his home broken into by robbers. The incident occurred on Saturday night during his team’s match against Manchester City at St. James’ Park in Northumbria.
The Brazilian athlete was there for the game despite his injury.
Reports state that Joelinton was notified during the game that someone had broken into his home, and that’s when the police were called. Before they could get there, the burglars made off.
A few weeks had passed since the break-in at the home of Manchester City midfielder Jack Grealish.
While City was playing Everton on December 27, Grealish’s family and fiancée Sasha Attwood were present when the property was broken into by intruders. Watches and gems worth over £1 million ($1.27 million) were reported stolen.
