Texas’s Austin In December, the Longhorn world was stunned to see photos of a dead longhorn outside an Oklahoma State fraternity.
“Then they take our mascot and, like, do that,” Gabby Besnard remarked following the revelation. “That’s just, like, really ridiculous.”
An expletive was emblazoned on the side of the longhorn, referring to OSU’s FarmHouse fraternity.
UT student Camilia Veratudela stated, “I was just, it was so sad to see the videos posted online of the dead longhorn just being like dragged and pulled.” “It was just very disheartening.”
On Wednesday, the police took Andrew King, Luke Ackerley, Bennett Fady, and Brody Shelby into custody.
They are all members of Alpha Gamma Rho, an additional fraternity at OSU.
When the longhorn was discovered, several UT students expressed worry since it was discovered the day before UT and OSU were scheduled to play for the Big 12 Championship.
“I don’t really understand, like to bring animal cruelty into it,” Besnard replied. “Like, it’s just a football game.”
It could have actually been a part of a prank war between the two fraternities, according to an affidavit for an arrest warrant.
The records state that Bennett Fady talked to other fraternity members about throwing the longhorn’s corpse on the FarmHouse lawn, but they advised against it.
Additionally, there is a pause in the fraternity’s security tape around the incident’s time.
According to investigators in court records, “there was a significant amount of collective lack of cooperation from the alpha gamma rho organization, as it related to the investigation into the incident.”
