Steelers Request Interview with Rams’ Assistant Coach
Pittsburgh — The Pittsburgh Steelers have identified one candidate they will seriously consider for the vacant offensive coordinator position. According to Albert Breer, senior NFL reporter at Sports Illustrated, the Steelers and Las Vegas Raiders have requested interviews with Zac Robinson, Los Angeles Rams passing game coordinator and quarterbacks coach, to fill their open coordinator roles.
According to Breer, Robinson has already interviewed with the Chicago Bears and will next meet with the New England Patriots. He recently completed his fifth season as quarterbacks coach and pass-game coordinator for the Rams, ranking second overall. Robinson oversaw Matt Stafford’s career revival, which included a career-high completion % during the 2022 season. Led by standout wide outs Cooper Kupp and Puka Nacua, the Rams ranked 10th in passing yards per game this season.
Robinson, a former Oklahoma State collegiate quarterback, has previously coached for the Patriots, Seahawks, Lions, and Bengals in the NFL, with the Rams serving as his sole employer. The Steelers fired offensive coordinator Matt Canada in November, and running backs coach Eddie Faulkner and quarterbacks coach Mike Sullivan shared offensive coordinator duties for the rest of the season. Last week, Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin stated that neither is currently considered candidates for the full-time position.
