A Tennessee Volunteers player is suffering greatly due to…
Tennessee defensive lineman Omarr Norman-Lott has been suspended for the first half of this weekend’s Tennessee vs. UTSA game, the SEC announced Monday.
The reason for Norman-Lott’s suspension is because of ‘unsportsmanlike actions in the aftermath of the Florida-Tennessee football game,’ per the SEC.
In addition to Norman-Lott’s suspension, three Florida players have been suspended by the SEC for the same reason and length of time: OL Damieon George Jr., OL Micah Mazzaccua, and TE Dante Zanders.
“The suspensions were determined after video review and consultation between the Southeastern Conference office, the University of Florida, and the University of Tennessee,” the SEC said in a press release.
In the final seconds of Florida’s 29-16 win over the Vols last Saturday in Gainesville, a fight broke out between the two teams after Omari Thomas bumped Graham Mertz.
Multiple players on each side were involved in the altercation, but Norman-Lott was the only Tennessee player do land a punch in the scrum.
