The Eagles Can’t Fire Nick Sirianni After the Season’s Terrible End…
The Philadelphia Eagles are leaving early in the NFL playoffs after falling to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 32-9 in a lopsided game during the wild card round.
Following a 10-1 start, the Eagles had lost five of their previous six games, so many were hoping that they would finally turn things around. However, Philadelphia displayed much of the same, with an identity-less offense and a defense that lacked consistency and fundamental playmaking.
In the most important game of the season, the secondary missed a number of tackles, which allowed backup receivers like Trey Palmer and David Moore to gouge them for long scores.
During the news conference after the game, head coach Nick Sirianni stated, “Obviously we were in a big slide.” “Whenever that occurs, I start by examining myself. I also didn’t do well enough. We obviously lost today and the previous six games. And it seemed as though you were stuck in a rut.And we are all like that. We must examine ourselves in the mirror, come to terms with it, and keep searching for answers and solutions.
Although there were speculations before the game suggesting the Eagles might let go of Sirianni in the event of an early playoff exit due to the team’s unstoppable decline, Philadelphia isn’t letting go of him this offseason.
