Aston Villa could benefit from another raw talent as Premier League clubs aim to comply with Profitability and Sustainability (PSR) regulations.
All teams in English football’s top flight are required to submit their latest financial reports on 31 December.
Two weeks later, a decision was made on whether they may have broken the rules.
Both Everton and Nottingham Forest were later charged with losing three years, but Villa avoided the problem.
The club will not impose any sanctions this time, but will continue to monitor its spending next year to avoid an impact like the 10-point deduction the Toffees suffered at the start of the season.
Clubs such as Villa, Chelsea and Manchester City have seen the growth of their academies, and have been able to break even in three years, especially with strong youth products.
Villa have parted ways with the likes of Jack Grealish, Carney Chukwuemeka, Cameron Archer, Jadon Philozine and Aaron Ramsey, with Finn Azaz recently joining Middlesbrough.
These are sales that bring high profits to clubs, as the price of academy-developed players is minimal or non-existent.
Villa could benefit from their next suitor as midfielder Tim Irogbunam could leave the club.
According to Darren Witcope of the Mirror, Villa are “open to” a permanent sale of the defensive midfielder, who was on loan at Queens Park Rangers last season.
