Gov. Kathy Hochul: There won’t be another postponement between the Steelers and Bills…
Buffalo, New York The Steelers vs. Bills playoff game “will not be pushed back again,” according to New York Governor Kathy Hochul, even though there is still a travel ban in place near Highmark Stadium in Orchard Park.
Originally set for 1 p.m. on Sunday, the wild-card game is now set for 4:30 p.m. ET on Monday. The postponement of the game was declared early on Saturday afternoon.
Amidst the lake-effect snowstorm that was affecting the Buffalo area on Sunday afternoon, Hochul giving a speech at a press conference among other government officials. Snow continued to fall Sunday in certain regions at a rate of 3 to 6 inches an hour, in addition to wind velocities up to 50 mph, according to Hochul.
“Monday is game day, and it will be really cold outside. It will be extremely chilly, with temperatures in the teens and wind chill factors as low as zero or perhaps as low as nine degrees, according to Hochul. However, based on current forecasts, this will not involve the risk of strong gusts, blinding snow, or dangerous traffic conditions for anyone making their way to the stadium or departing. That dynamic, then, is substantially superior than what we would have had today.
