“Last year, I thought it was important to talk about Green Bay at the beginning of the week.

plays “This game is about our commitment.
“It doesn’t matter who we play, it doesn’t really matter,” McCarthy said, adding that he’s not rooting for the Packers.
He suggested that he was not against it.
“I didn’t play and I didn’t watch any games in preparation before the tournament yesterday.
I got on a plane last night.
That’s where I’m at.
” McCarthy has been a head coach in the NFL for nearly 20 years, which means he’s not stupid enough to think games against his old team won’t matter this year.
But he knows he doesn’t need to participate.
“I don’t have time for that,” he said.
“I answered honestly to the question about my experience there last year.
It won’t help us win.
So if it doesn’t help us win games, I’m not interested in it.
” The Packers have changed since the Cowboys saw them in 2022.
The reality is also that just as Mike McCarthy is a different version of himself, the Packers team the Cowboys will face in the NFL playoffs is a very different version of the team.
Green Bay is the youngest team in the NFL and has completely overhauled its roster following Aaron Rodgers’ trade to the Jets.
Nine of Green Bay’s 22 starters from last year’s game against the Cowboys are gone, 10 including injured tackle David Bakhtiari.
“They’ve got some new faces, especially they’ve been playing a lot of guys in the secondary all year, and they’ve apparently been getting better lately.
But last night and this morning, their staff was just tied up,” McCarthy said.
The big change was at quarterback, with Jordan Love replacing Rodgers.
“I saw Jordan Love at the breakdown a few times,” McCarthy said.
“Obviously he has great command on the offensive end and you can see that he feels comfortable.
He made great time records and throws.
