[UPDATE #2]: Brown will undergo an MRI on Monday, but initial thoughts are that it isn’t anything major, and the WR told teammates he was doing better post-game.
Things went from bad to worse for the Eagles early against the Giants, and if losing Sydney Brown wasn’t bad enough, A.J. Brown fumbled the ball and then stayed down while trainers evaluated his knee. It was bad enough that teammates surrounded him and took a knee, before he ultimately was able to leave the field under his own power — albeit with a limp.
The good news is Brown was able to walk into the locker room without any help, but it’s safe to assume his day is over regardless. Hopefully whatever injury he sustained isn’t something long term or something that will linger into the playoffs, because he is someone the tell will absolutely need if they want to make a postseason push.
The Eagles were already without DeVonta Smith against the Giants, after the WR suffered an ankle injury last week after getting rolled up. Quez Watkins took Smith’s role for the Week 18 game, with Julio Jones in at WR3.
Brown may have been in the news the past few weeks, but no one (at least in-house) questioned his commitment to his team and teammates. The veteran WR even put together aa team-building activity just before the Cardinals game, and spoke to reporters earlier this week to clear the air and discuss any misconceptions out there.
