As per ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the NFL has suspended Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Justyn Ross for six games for violating the league’s personal conduct policy. However, Ross will be eligible to return following his team’s game against the Buffalo Bills on Sunday, as he has already missed five games while on the Commissioner Exempt List.
“The NFL has announced that Chiefs wide receiver Justyn Ross, who has been on the Commissioner Exempt List for the past five games due to an incident in October, will miss six games during the regular season for breaking the Personal Conduct Policy.
“Since any games a player misses while on the rundown is credited against his suspension, he will be back with the group on Monday after the Bosses’ down Sunday against the Bills. He should repay the six game checks he got on paid leave.”
The NFL put Ross on the Chief Excluded Rundown after Shawnee, Kansas, police captured Ross on misdeed allegations of homegrown battery and criminal property harm of under $1,000, per ESPN’s Adam Teicher.
Ross argued not liable to the two charges, which were in response to an Oct. 23 police reaction to a condo he imparted to his better half.
According to an affidavit that was obtained by TMZ Sports, Ross’ girlfriend told the police that the former Clemson wide receiver attacked her and broke or damaged some of her possessions, including slicing her Mercedes.
“As per the archives, the lady let cops know that after Ross saw her telephone, he got right in front of her, pushed her, tossed her to the floor, and afterward started tossing objects at her,” per TMZ Sports’ report.
“The docs say the lady was seen with ‘a little scratch’ on her hand following the occurrence.
The woman also told police that Ross broke jewelry, a cellphone, a laptop, and her Mercedes key during the altercation, according to officials.
Per Andrea Klick of the Kansas City Star on Nov. 27, charges against Ross could be dropped after a timeframe after the Johnson Province Locale Court endorsed his redirection understanding.
“Ross was accused last month of homegrown battery without any priors and criminal harm to property. The understanding, endorsed Wednesday, will incorporate agreements that Ross should continue to have his charges excused.
The agreement’s terms have not been made available to the public. However, court authorities say that in the event that he doesn’t disregard the particulars of the understanding over a settled upon timeframe, the charges might be dropped. In the event that he abuses the redirection arrangement, he might in any case have to deal with conceivable conviction on those penalties.”
Ross joined the Bosses as an undrafted free specialist in 2022. Due to injury, he missed that entire season, but he returned in 2023. Ross has showed up in seven games this season and made three gets for 34 yards.
