Interestingly the Raiders have an official airline deal in the US with Allegiant. The carrier’s reported US$25 million a year partnership is mostly centred on the naming rights agreement for the team’s home stadium in Las Vegas, but the deal with Viva Aerobus highlights the flexibility of the NFL’s international marketing programme.
“The Las Vegas Raiders are proud to announce the partnership with Viva Aerobus as our official Mexican airline,” said Sandra Douglass Morgan, Raiders president.
“We have strong ties to Mexico and are grateful to our loyal fan base there. We are committed to continuing to grow ‘Raider Nation’ in Mexico.
Juan Carlos Zuazua, general director of Viva Aerobus, added: “We are very excited to be the official Mexican airline of the Raiders, a team that, like us, is guided by discipline, perseverance, camaraderie and passion for what we do. And it is that this new alliance allows us to connect our passengers with an exciting sport in the entertainment capital of the world.
“There can be no better combination to watch than a professional football in Las Vegas. Let’s fly high with the Raiders.”
Elsewhere in the NFL, the Miami Dolphins have revealed a new partnership with sustainable consumer technology startup Grover, which will see the company’s solutions incorporated into the West Field Club area of Hard Rock Stadium.
