A month out from the NBA trade deadline, the rumors are coming in fast and furious from around the league and the No. 1 topic that seems to be Toronto Raptors Pascal Siakam. Last week, the Raptors made the first big trade by sending forward OG Anunoby and center Precious Achiuwa to the New York Knicks for RJ Barrett, Immanuel Quickley, and a second round pick. All eyes are on the Raptors still to see if they might move Siakam and dating back to last summer, the Hawks have been the team most associated with Siakam. According to Tim Bontemps at ESPN, the Raptors are expected to move Siakam before the trade deadline: “League sources expect Toronto to move on from two-time All-Star forward Pascal Siakam before the trade deadline”
However, are the Hawks still interested in Siakam? That might not be the case according to Yahoo Sports Jake Fischer: “Atlanta has been one of the more active teams on the phones across the league, sources said. And that seller’s path becoming more likely has league personnel no longer considering the Hawks as a prominent potential landing spot for Toronto’s other trade-deadline darling, Pascal Siakam, now that the Raptors ultimately moved on from Anunoby.” It will be interesting to see what happens. Fischer also mentions that the only untouchable players on the roster are point guard Trae Young and forward Jalen Johnson:
