Tight end with four stars in 2025 On Thursday, Eli Owens committed to Michigan, giving the Wolverines yet another top target at a position where they continue to recruit aggressively. After a pair of solid trips to campus for games this season, the Wolverines were dominating the 247Sports Crystal Ball for the Alcoa (TN) native.

Owens came up for a (relatively) unexpected visit for the Ohio State game after visiting Michigan during their game versus Purdue.
“The (Ohio State) visit went exceptionally well,” Owens told The Michigan Insider. “The main highlights were getting a taste of what ‘the game’ is like.” I’d already heard all I needed to know, so it was really just to enjoy the game.
According to the 247Sports Composite, the four-star tight end is now rated 19th in the cycle.
Gardner, Devin: Yes, I concur. And your favorable football remarks aren’t limited to this season. We’d been talking about it for a few years. The defense is fantastic, fantastic, fantastic… and maybe the attack (struggles a little). When we need (the offense) to accomplish anything, they do it. And it appears that defense is failing this time (in another game). ‘Offense, we need you to (show us the path)’. As a result, it bears the imprint of a superb team. A fantastic, all-around squad. And in this regard, in this game, two members of your team… The offensive and special teams never truly found their stride until the last offensive drive. And the special teams never arrived.
groove. I suppose you might make a good snap on the extra point (a plus), since we needed it. A solid snap on the extra point was good special teams, but everything else was a disaster. And we haven’t seen it happen yet. And I don’t think it will happen again. However, when the offense needed to make a play, they did so. However, the defense was fantastic. And, as you mentioned, Alabama, history, and hiring a former Michigan defensive coordinator didn’t help. And I feel they were outcoached on every level. Despite being outplayed, I believe they had a half-decent offensive strategy. Minter’s defense strategy, on the other hand, was far superior.
And you can see on that last play where they have something… that may work. But on the backside, you busted his guard square in his face, and his feet are all in the way, so the terrible snap certainly helped a lot. However, you now have a backside (tackle’s leg in the hole. That’s what Milroe is up against. That is only a microcosm of the full game. They pursued him. They were positioned in the backfield. They lived in the backfield, and I saw a video on Twitter of one Alabama offensive lineman strolling along the Michigan sideline, as if to intimidate. Did you notice that? Man, those are some big fellas. I’m referring to the fact that they’re strolling (on Michigan’s sideline).
It’s a couple of Michigan players, and (Alabama’s linemen) are so large that the Michigan players seem like they’re playing with tiny kids. And they’re mugging, and they’re walking side to side. Then they’re in the game, and it’s like, ‘you’ve got to play the game, brother!’ After such shenanigans, you had to play this game. ‘Hey, we want to show y’all how huge we are,’ their five offensive lineman said. And that was very wonderful to watch because, if you think about it, especially on the ends, it was really cool to see. The defensive ends for Michigan… The size was so unlike to those enormous old folks from Alabama. It didn’t matter, though. They were as ferocious as rabid dogs. I’m sure Alabama was surprised.
