Newcastle United set to be without 10 players for Nottingham Forest clash
On Boxing Day, Nottingham Forest, in desperate need of a win, travels to Newcastle United.
With just one victory in their previous 14 games, the Reds are currently just two points above the relegation zone. Due to Forest’s dismal performance, Steve Cooper was fired, and Nuno Espirito Santo took over. However, Saturday’s 3-2 loss to Bournemouth was a rough start for Santo.
They play a Newactle team that was defeated 1-0 at Luton in their previous match. The Magpies are facing a bit of an injury crisis as a number of important players are expected to miss the match on Tuesday.
Jamaal Lascelles, a former Forest player, hobbled off against the Hatters and may now need to spend some time on the sidelines. It puts more injuries to Eddie Howe’s team’s growing list.
Newcastle’s complete list of absentees: Sandro Tonali (suspended), Joelinton (thigh), Harvey Barnes (ankle/foot), Joseph Willock (calf/shin/heel), Elliot Anderson (back), Nick Pope (shoulder), and Jacob Murphy (shoulder) Matt Targett, Javier Manquillo (hip, pelvic, and groin),
Do you doubt Jamaal Lascelles’ injury?
Willy Boly is expected to miss Forest’s game because he was given a one-match ban for his absurd dismissal against Bournemouth. Felipe is also sidelined due to a hamstring issue.
