Andre Onana, Manchester United’s first-choice goalkeeper, is well enough to start this weekend’s match against Everton, according to manager Erik Ten Hag.
The 27-year-old goalie for Cameroon hurt himself late in last week’s World Cup qualifying match, which saw Cameroon defeat Mauritius 3-0.
Onana was supposed to miss Sunday’s Premier League matchup against Everton due to the injury. On Friday, November 24, Erik ten Hag made an announcement stating that this will not be the case.
In addition to Onana, the coach provided updates on Rasmus Hojlund and Luke Shaw. Hojlund’s health is still unknown, according to the Dutch strategist, but English defender Shaw is well enough to play against Everton on Sunday at Goodison Park.
“Andre is doing well. He is good since he stepped in during training, Ten Hag stated.
“Rasmus is training, he’s outside, and he’s a close finisher. We will have to wait before making a decision because he is moving in the right direction.
Shaw’s thigh muscle injury kept him out of the Manchester United lineup since August, and like other United supporters, Ten Hag is glad to have the defender back in action.
“You can mention many things, including his physical and technical ability as well as his leadership,” the coach remarked.
We’re glad he’s back because, as you can see, we didn’t have a left full-back for a significant portion of the season. That’s encouraging, and he will contribute to our increased stability.
