The Guess Who Reunite for First Tour in 23 Years.

Legendary Canadian rock band The Guess Who are hitting the road again — for the first time in 23 years under their original name. Founding guitarist Randy Bachman and singer-keyboardist Burton Cummings have announced a nationwide Canadian tour for 2026.

A Long-Awaited Reunion

The tour announcement comes on the heels of a protracted legal battle over the rights to the band’s name. For decades, a version of The Guess Who toured without the involvement of Bachman or Cummings, prompting Cummings to refer to it as a “fake” version. ([Parade][2]) In September 2024, Bachman and Cummings reached an out-of-court settlement with former members Jim Kale and Garry Peterson, reclaiming the trademark to “The Guess Who” name.

Cummings said, “Randy and I are thrilled that our songs have never gone away. That people still want to hear us perform them live. We are going to go out and HONOUR the music.” Bachman added: “I’m looking ahead and very excited to be joining up with Burton and touring as The Guess Who again. Together we created decades of incredible songs and memories that still stand strong today.”

The “Takin’ It Back” Tour

Branded as the *Takin’ It Back Tour*, the trek begins in early 2026. The first stop is set for January 31 at the OLG Stage at Fallsview Casino in Niagara Falls, Ontario. The main run kicks off in Moncton, New Brunswick on May 26 — followed by stops in Halifax, Laval (QC), Toronto, Hamilton, London (ON), Winnipeg, Saskatoon, Calgary and Edmonton.

Festival appearances are also on the bill, including a set at Ottawa Bluesfest on July 19 and a show at the Pacific National Exhibition in Vancouver on August 23.

Tickets are set to go on general sale November 14 at 10:00 a.m. local time, with presales starting earlier.

Legacy & Significance

The Guess Who rose to international acclaim in the late 1960s and early 1970s with hits like “These Eyes,” “Undun,” “No Time,” and most famously “American Woman,” which became the first Billboard No. 1 hit by a Canadian group. ([Billboard Canada][5]) Their influence on classic rock, particularly in Canada, has been profound — and this tour signals a major milestone: the original team performing under the band name again after years of being unable to do so.

What to Expect

For fans of the band’s music, this tour promises a celebration of that catalogue — and with Bachman and Cummings back together under the official The Guess Who banner, the authenticity factor is high. A few things to keep in mind:

Early ticket purchase is advisable given pent-up demand and a limited number of dates.

The sets will likely lean heavily on fan favourites and classic hits, given the emphasis on “honouring the music.”

While the focus is Canada, international or additional dates may still emerge.

Given the passage of time (over two decades since this lineup toured under the name), expect a mix of nostalgia and updated production values.

Final Word

For longtime followers and new listeners alike, The Guess Who’s 2026 tour is both a musical reunion and a historical moment. After reclaiming their name and rightful place, Randy Bachman and Burton Cummings will lead the charge, taking their legacy live once again — a chance to hear classic songs in the hands of the original creators, under the banner they helped build.
