On Feb. 24, 1975, Led Zeppelin released their sixth studio album “Physical Graffiti.”
50 years later, Jason Bonham — legendary drummer John Bonham’s son — is taking the seminal classic rock record on the road in his father’s honor.
Starting May 3, he’ll hit theaters, casinos, music halls, auditoriums and wineries all over North America along with vocalist James Dylan (assuming the Robert Plant role), bassist Dorian Heartsong (taking on John Paul Jones’ duties) and guitarist Akio “Mr. Jimmy” Sakurai (acting as Jimmy Page).
Early in the 21-show run, Jason Bonham’s Led Zeppelin Evening are scheduled to make their only official New York stop when they drop into Syracuse’s Landmark Theatre on Tuesday, May 6.
In the event that’s too far upstate for New Yorkers, you can also catch the band’s interpretations of “Kashmir,” “Houses of the Holy,” “In My Time of Dying,” “Trampled Underfoot,” “Ten Years Gone” and the rest of “Physical Graffiti” along with other Zeppelin staples at Wallingford, CT’s Toyota Oakdale Theatre on Saturday, May 3 and Stamford, CT’s Stamford Center for the Arts on Sunday, May 4.
“This is my favorite Led Zeppelin album of all-time,” Bonham shared in a press release. “Being able to celebrate it the way we are planning on this tour is something I am extremely excited about. I can’t wait for people to come out and see these shows and celebrate this extraordinary record with us. My goal is to play at least 50 shows to commemorate 50 years…And don’t worry there will be plenty of other songs that you also love played that night.”
In a rave review of a recent live show of theirs, Heavy Consequence wrote “perhaps the most admirable aspect of the tour is Jason’s willingness to let Mr. Jimmy share the spotlight at each concert. While Jason’s name is on the marquee, there are really two stars of the show, and it’s a treat for fans to see a couple of masters at work.”
Fans can purchase tickets for all upcoming Jason Bonham Led Zeppelin Evening shows on sites like Vivid Seats; the official on-sale for the ‘Physical Graffiti Tour’ is Friday, march. 28.
Vivid Seats is a secondary market ticketing platform, and prices may be higher or lower than face value, depending on demand.
They have a 100% buyer guarantee that states your transaction will be safe and secure and will be delivered before the event.
