A Heartfelt Message from Nelly Korda to LPGA Officials Regarding Her Future…
Dear LPGA Officials,
I hope this message finds you well. It is with a sense of both gratitude and contemplation that I write to you today, reflecting on my career and what lies ahead for me in the world of golf. As you know, I have been incredibly fortunate to have been part of this incredible community for many years now, and my journey through the LPGA has been a chapter of growth, achievement, and moments that will forever be etched in my heart.
As I look toward the future, there are several aspects of my career and personal life that I must consider. The pursuit of excellence on the course has been my driving force, and I continue to be inspired by the challenges that come with being a professional golfer. However, there is also the realization that there are times in life when personal and professional decisions must be made with a deep sense of introspection, balancing both the passion for the game and the evolving dynamics of life outside of it.
I want to express my sincere gratitude to the LPGA for providing me with a platform that has allowed me to thrive and represent the tour at the highest level. The opportunities, camaraderie, and competitive spirit that come with being a part of this organization have been nothing short of extraordinary. I have met incredible women along the way, and I have learned so much, not only about golf but also about the strength and resilience of the human spirit. The LPGA has given me a stage where I’ve had the privilege to compete at the highest levels, and I will always be thankful for the experiences it has provided.
However, as I enter this new phase, I want to be completely transparent with you about the process I am going through. I have recently been reflecting on my future, considering the physical and mental demands of professional golf, as well as my own long-term aspirations both within and outside of the game. It’s a delicate balance, and I want to make sure that when I do step back onto the course, I do so with the passion, focus, and dedication that I have always strived to bring to every event.
Please know that this decision is not being made lightly. The LPGA is my home, and walking away from something so meaningful is not something I take for granted. I feel a deep connection to the sport and the community we have built together. Yet, as we all know, golf is a demanding sport, and at times, the need for rest, recovery, and self-reflection becomes essential.
I am committed to making the best decision for myself, my family, and my future in golf, and I will keep you updated on my thoughts as I continue to reflect on the path ahead. I want to ensure that when I do make any decisions, they are in alignment with my personal goals and the values that I hold dear.
